Re: Radiator Mounting Location Issues
WOW!!! I just read this thread because I was referred to it by a more recent thread. . .
. . .and all I can say is WOW!!!
I'm gonna back Yoshi on this one though when it comes to the pistons leaving the blocks. . .it happens. . .a LOT!!! If you don't believe that it happens then you haven't been around motorsports enough. . .my bosses 3 cylinder Suzuki Swift econo car launched a spark plug through his hood at idle. . .I was behind him on my motorcycle at a stop light and it came back and bounced off my helmet. . .
. . .my buddies '69 Dodge Charger w/a 440+6 Max Wedge blew a piston through the head and through his hood straight up into the air. . .
. . .both of these examples have way less CR than a MC engine does. . .
. . .I won't touch the radiator placement issue with a 10 ft. pole and I don't want to revive a dead horse, but I did feel it was necessary to back Yoshi on the piston issue. . .and like I said those of you that don't believe it. . .it does happen. . .do the math and figure out the velocity that a piston is moving at when an engine is revved out. . .still don't believe it can happen after doing the math then just go spend a couple of weekends at a drag strip. . .you'll probably see it more than once in a weekend. . .
. . .Yoshi. . .that's a nice looking rail BTW!!! Caught my immediately once I started visiting this site after being referred over from RDC!
