I have a 26" enclosed trailer that I will tow to the Oregon coast in a few weeks. I will make that trip twice. First without airtabs and then with airtabs. I will fuel along the way to get mileage readings at highway and slower speeds during the coastal range.
A next step could be airtabbing the back of my truck and camper shell. Then a next step could be a DIY nose for the trailer. There are things I can do to improve fuel effiency. Now to pencil out the payback . .

A DIY nose will give you the most notable difference in drag and fuel consumption. I know first hand the difference between a small, light flat nosed trailer, and a long, heavy, v nose trailer, and I take the long v nose trailer, that weighed about 3k more loaded, than a smaller, lighter flat nose any day..........
